The first 66 Days

66 days is the average time to form a habit. Or in my case, change how I see myself…

Every hour on the hour (while awake) for the past 66 days I have had my watch tap my wrist and I have then picked up my (emotional support) water bottle and initially read the words I had put on it which were:

I am healthy

I am someone who loves water.

I am an inspiration to my children.

I am in control of my body.

The goal/hope is that when I now look at this drink bottle, I have created a self-love trigger & I feel these things without the requirement of me needing the words.

But these words have been powerful, one of the most powerful moments was Ira asking me what the words meant so I explained them & his response was “well you are an inspiration to me”… one major reason I am trying to overhaul my life and health is so that I can watch my kids grow up & get married (if they choose), have kids (if they choose) but just be there and with them as long as I possibly can, I don’t want them to be 30 when I die.

I know my self-love and life has been dictated for so long by my past from childhood onwards, so now I am taking the power back and slowly but surely working on the new version of me.

A quote from the 5am Club book by Robin SHARMA that teaches the 66 day Habit installation protocol has this quote that I just loved “Your past is a servant that has made you all you now are not a companion to spend much time with in your present or a friend to carry into your spotless future”

So if you’re still reading, thanks for hanging around, I hope that you too know that you can make changes and implement habits, if this old girl can still learn new things, there’s hope for you all

Love,

MrsJRad
